Clean Drinking Water

Over 160 million Indians still drink contaminated water. In drought-prone talukas of Maharashtra and Karnataka, families walk 3–5 km daily just to collect brackish, often unsafe, water from shared wells or seasonal streams. Waterborne diseases — cholera, typhoid, diarrhoea — are leading causes of child mortality in these areas.

Najmafoundation installs solar-powered RO water purification units in villages with no safe water access. Each unit serves 200–300 families, providing 5,000 litres of clean water every day for at least 10 years with minimal maintenance.
